Our Service Dogs are trained to help their partners in so many ways, and each of them possesses skills that have been custom tailored to fit the specific needs of the person who needs them most.

Since sometimes it is difficult to envision how a Service Dog can help a person, here are a few examples of how those skills assist their partners:

Giving an item to the cashier

SALES TRANSACTIONS
Handing a credit card or money to a store clerk and taking change from that person to give to their partner.

Helping with the dishes

ASSISTING WITH APPLIANCES
Pushing buttons and switches with noses, paws and/or mouths. Pulling appliances open such as dishwashers and refrigerators.

Getting an item from a shelf

RETRIEVING
Getting items such as dropped keys, papers, clothing), etc.

Getting a towel from a drawer
|

BRINGING ITEMS
Bringing the telephone or remote control upon request, getting a towel from a drawer, taking something from another person to give to their partner, picking something up off a store shelf.
